The French advertising giant announced via its subsidiary in Gabon that it had won a contract for the exclusive advertising rights at Libreville International Airport for a period of ten years.
Under this new contract, JCDecaux Gabon, a subsidiary jointly owned by the Bolloré Group in partnership with the Gabonese Strategic Investment Fund (FGIS), will manage "indoor and outdoor advertising spaces at the country's largest airport with a digital and premium offering, as well as numerous sponsored services for passengers," the group said in a statement.
As the gateway to Gabon, Libreville International Airport serves 24 destinations in 16 countries and handles nearly 1 million passengers per year.
With a presence in more than 170 airports, JCDecaux covers 27% of global air traffic. This new contract allows the Group "to add a 32nd African airport to its portfolio and consolidate its presence in Gabon, where it has been operating advertising street furniture in the municipalities of Libreville, Akanda, and Owendo (1 million inhabitants in total) since its establishment in the country in 2017. "
Jean-Charles Decaux, Co-Chief Executive Officer of JCDecaux, said: "We are very proud to have been chosen as the exclusive advertising operator for Libreville International Airport. A key step in our development strategy in Gabon, this contract once again demonstrates the expertise of our teams and strengthens our airport platform in Africa and our position in Gabon. We are delighted to be rolling out an innovative, premium and resolutely digital offering in the country's largest airport, which in a few years' time will become a major airport hub. Our solutions will benefit passengers, advertisers and their brands alike. By deploying the most innovative solutions in Gabon today, we are making this country one of JCDecaux's showcases in this region of Africa. "
