Cédric Atangana launches WeCareUp to fight Covid-19

Cédric Atangana, founder of Infinity Space, has been developing WeCashUp since 2015, a universal payment platform that connects e-commerce players and populations in emerging markets, capable of aggregating all the mobile money solutions already implemented by the traditional banking system.

Aware of the potential of the African continent but also of local realities, Cédric Atangana founded WeCashUp to enable unbanked people to access online shopping while securing transactions between consumers and merchants.

To address the current coronavirus health crisis, Cédric Atangana has chosen to go one step further by setting up the WeCareUp platform, a universal platform for mass screening and care of COVID-19 patients. The aim is to better understand and manage the flow of infected people in hospitals.

During a live speech organized by La Tribune Afrique and the 35°Nord agency on May 6, Cédric Atangana unveiled the outlines of this new WeCareUp platform.

"We talk a lot about technology,

but this technology should also serve more humanistic purposes; people must be at the heart of everything."

The app has already been rolled out in five countries: Algeria, Nigeria, Niger, and Burkina Faso, with a launch in Cameroon in the works.
