La Nouvelle Chaîne Ivoirienne (NCI) was honored at the 22nd edition of the EBONY Awards ceremony held on January 23, 2021, in Yamoussoukro. Ali Diarrassouba, the star presenter of the country's leading private general-interest channel, has just seen his achievements recognized and rewarded. He won the EBONY award for best TV presenter in Côte d'Ivoire.
The winner dedicated the award to the foresight of the top management, the editorial team, and the support of viewers. "I would like to thank the top management of NCI, who placed their trust in us by entrusting us with this task, as well as my colleagues, journalists, and the entire NCI editorial team. My thoughts also go out to the viewers and internet users, as this award is theirs too. I feel a great deal of appreciation and gratitude this evening," said the winner.
This award comes just one month after NCI won the Business Awards in December 2020 for Best News Channel of 2020.
The accolades are piling up for NCI, which recently saw its journalists Cheick Yvhane, Ali Diarrassouba,
and Pierre Akpro
ranked among the most influential personalities in Côte d'Ivoire.
Ange Guéi, its CEO, makes no secret of his pride:
"Congratulations to Ali and the editorial team for this important award. We already had EBONY awards among us, including a double EBONY with Cheick Yvhane, a super EBONY with TIE MEDANDJE, and now the EBONY for best presenter with Ali DIARRASSOUBA. We are proud and satisfied with the NCI teams and encourage them to persevere in excellence for the enjoyment of Ivorian viewers."
The Nouvelle Chaîne Ivoirienne (NCI) was created as a result of the liberalization of the Ivorian audiovisual sector. From the moment it went on air on December 12, 2020, the channel immediately demonstrated its ambition to promote the best of the audiovisual experience! The quality of its sets and productions is a perfect illustration of this.
Just one year after its launch, the Nouvelle Chaîne Ivoirienne has won the hearts of Ivorians in both the news and entertainment segments. It positions itself as a generalist channel, a position it intends to jealously guard by offering programs that have become flagship shows in less than a year, such as the daily talk show La Télé d'ici, the NCI News television news program, the debate show NCI 360 (voted best TV show by ODCI internet users), and the hit comedy series Madame Tonkpi. The channel has greatly expanded its programming schedule for the fall with a daily women's talk show, LES FEMMES D'ICI, series, cult African films, and more.
