Abidjan and Lomé host the Africa TechUp Tour

The economic capital of Côte d'Ivoire will mark the first stop on the Africa TechUp Tour, a series of pan-African hackathons organized to support digital technology and innovation on the continent in the service of development.

Organized by the Hackafrica association and the company Rintio, the Africa TechUp Tour is a series of events that will take place in various African capitals throughout 2019. Abidjan and Lomé will be the first cities to host this edition, which aims to promote the emergence of young talent in the African tech world and support entrepreneurial projects in the digital sector.

Between May 2019 and July 2020, each event organized in an African capital will be structured around two key elements: a boot camp offering training in coding and artificial intelligence, and a hackathon, a competition designed to stimulate local entrepreneurial spirit.

This vast project will promote the training, emergence, and support of young talent and the development of promising digital projects.

Abidjan will host the first stage of the Africa TechUp Tour from March 8 to June 16, and Lomé, the capital of Togo, from March 15 to June 30, 2019.
