The DRC invests in Smart Bloc Africa

On the sidelines of the Afric'up event dedicated to African innovation and technology, held in Tunis on September 24 and 25, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Tunisia officially announced their intention to join the Smart Africa Block.

The Smart Africa Bloc is a venture capital fund dedicated to innovative African startups, initiated by the Smart Africa Alliance, which is committed to the digital transformation of the continent, and the investment platform Bamboo Capital Partners. It is also an impact fund that combines public and private financing to invest in the most innovative African startups.

Representatives of the two countries' governments have therefore announced their intention to join this initiative with €100 million to support the development of technology and innovation. A declaration of intent has already been signed by the parties.

Burkina Faso, Djibouti, and Chad also wish to invest in the initiative and are expected to formalize their commitment shortly.
