Ares Fighting Championship, the world's first Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) league based in Africa, has been officially launched by Vivendi Sports (a Vivendi Village entity).
Vivendi Sports, which organizes cycling and boxing competitions on the African continent, has now decided to develop MMA, which has been popularized in recent years by the UFC.
With the creation of this first league, Vivendi Sports aims to develop MMA on the continent, where the sport is gaining popularity in certain countries. Led by champions such as Francis Ngannou, Demarte Pena, and Israel Adesanya, the continent is making its mark on the MMA scene.
International competitions will be organized, with the first event, "Ares 1," already announced for December 14 in the city of Dakar. The event will be broadcast live on CANAL+ Sport (Africa).
