French-speaking Africa is showing real dynamism in fiction production, which is reflected in a proliferation of increasingly ambitious projects.
To highlight African creativity, Série Series Africa organizes pan-African meetings dedicated to series and creators from the continent.
After Ouagadougou in 2018-2019, a new edition was initially planned to take place in person in Abidjan (Ivory Coast). The event will be relaunched as soon as the international health situation allows, but in the meantime, these pan-African meetings will take place online!
In the coming weeks, players in the African production sector will take to the stage online on Serieseries.tv. The event will facilitate exchanges between African creators, producers, and broadcasters, with the aim of showcasing the continent's talent.
"Series are a phenomenal vehicle for cultural influence, all over the world and especially in Africa. I hope that through this event, we will help to promote audiovisual creation on the international stage and build new bridges between Africa and Europe in terms of creation," " said Marie Barraco, founder and general delegate of the Série Series festival, in an interview with Adweknow.
Organized with the support of the International Organization of La Francophonie, Série Series Africa will also set up a professional network called The Link to connect the various players and create new synergies.
