BRUT, the global benchmark for viral videos founded by Renaud Le Van Kim, Guillaume Lacroix, and Laurent Lucas, has announced the expansion of its activities on the African continent.
A social media news outlet specializing in social networks, BRUT has made a name for itself since 2016 thanks to its "engaging" video content, which is viewed in more than 100 countries. Today, the media outlet has an audience of 2 billion viewers worldwide, including 39 million in Europe, making it the most powerful media outlet in the region (according to the Tubular Audience Ratings study).
With a view to further development, BRUT recently announced the launch of BrutX, a new SVOD platform offering a selection of films, series, documentaries, and short films. Exclusive content, but also original productions that are socially engaged and have a strong social impact.
But today, BRUT is going beyond borders by seeking opportunities on the African continent, where the expansion of the web is gaining momentum, driven by an increasingly connected younger generation. The media outlet is set to launch four new pages in early May: Ivory Coast, Senegal, Morocco, and Tunisia. Journalist Haby Niakaté, head of the editorial team for the talk show "Le Chœur des Femmes" on CANAL+ Elles, will be the editor-in-chief of Brut Afrique.
