In the media world, enthusiasm for the region has intensified in recent years. As a result, many players have made their way to the continent to expand their coverage and get closer to African audiences. Africa is emerging as the new coveted territory for the media, from television to radio to the press.
Four years after its launch in France, Women Sports magazine has been available in an African version since July 6, distributed free of charge in 26 French-speaking countries on the continent. Dedicated to the world of women's sports, the magazine will be available in print and digital formats to reach a wider audience. Several themes will be covered, such as sport for pleasure, well-being and health, empowerment, education, and emancipation through sport, as well as profiles of African champions and influential women. In addition to the print version, which will be available in national editions, the Women Sports Africa teams will be producing Web TV content from 2021.
According to Naïma El Guermah, Publishing Director of Women Sports Africa: "Women in Africa contribute to economic development and major societal changes. Sport is emancipatory! Women Sports Africa serves French-speaking women and sport for and with Africa. A strong identity, a confirmed positioning for Women Sports, and a powerful print and digital approach! The female athlete is the embodiment of the independent, dynamic, persevering, and competent woman, as Nawal El Moutawakel, who was kind enough to write our first editorial, so intelligently points out!"
