WEBLOGY (Abidjan.net) launches two mobile applications in partnership with Visa

The Ivorian group Weblogy, which publishes abidjan.net, is launching two innovative mobile applications that enable secure digital payments on the network of Visa, the American banking transaction giant.

Weblogy, which includes a Fintech division, developed these applications with its partners Visa, Ecobank, and UBA.

Weblogy's CEO, Jil Alexandre N'Dia, said that the company is currently the only Fintech to "use the latest Visa technologies," an "application that allows payments to be made from one Visa card to another Visa card."

In addition, the application allows payments to be made to Ivorian mobile operators.

APaym, a free payment application, allows all Visa bank cards to be accepted on its platform and all types of transactions (withdrawals, top-ups) to be made from one Visa bank card to another (regardless of whether the cards are linked to a bank account or are prepaid).

It also allows users to make all types of transactions (withdrawals, top-ups) from a mobile money account to a bank card and vice versa, and to pay their electricity and water bills, school fees, buy a newspaper, or even make donations to NGOs, etc.

As for Apaym Pro, a derivative application dedicated to merchants, it enables transactions via "QR Code" in partnership with Ecobank. Users scan the merchant's QR code with their phone and pay their bill automatically.

The Ivorian Minister of Digital Economy, Telecommunications, and Innovation, Mr. Roger Adom, who was present at the press presentation of the app, praised this initiative, which allows the group to act as a "facilitator" for various commercial entities, while hoping that this model will inspire many Ivorians.
