Organized by the African Cultural Agency (ACA) and sponsored by the African Union, the African Pavilion is setting up shop on the Croisette, in the heart of the Cannes Film Festival's international village. For the third consecutive year, from July 7 to 16, the African Pavilion will be THE meeting place for professionals from across the continent.
The African Pavilion, led by the current President of the African Union, Mr. Félix Tshisekedi, President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, supports African cinema, which is particularly well represented this year at the Cannes Film Festival with films in the Official Selection (including two in the running for the Palme d'Or), Un Certain Regard, the Directors' Fortnight, and Critics' Week. The African Pavilion also offers young talents, selected through ACA's "Talented Cameras of Africa" program, the opportunity to present their projects and participate in numerous professional meetings organized at the African Pavilion or at the Short Film Corner.
In 2021, which the African Union has dedicated to Arts, Culture, and Heritage, the African Pavilion awaits you at the International Village to exchange views and celebrate the continent's cinema and cultural expressions in all their diversity!
