The 2021 edition of FESPACO will take place in October.

After an initial postponement of the 2021 edition, the Pan-African Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou (Fespaco) will now take place from October 16 to 21.

Originally scheduled for February 27 to March 6, 2021, Africa's leading film festival was ultimately postponed due to the Covid-19 health crisis. The decision was made by the Council of Ministers in Ouagadougou several months ago.

Every two years, the country of honest men honors African cinema with the organization of FESPACO, well known for its supreme award, the Etalon d'Or. In 2019, the festival celebrated its 50th anniversary with an edition organized around the theme "Memory and Future of African Cinema."

Beyond the awards, Senegalese filmmaker Alain Gomis, winner of the Etalon d'Or in 2018, also took the opportunity to present the Centre Yennenga, a film and audiovisual incubator open to young talent. This new training facility based in Dakar is set to open soon.
