SLASH beer, a new beer brand in Cameroon

Brasseries Samuel Foyou (Brasaf) is launching Slash beer, its first beer.

Already present in the beverage market through its Krystal Drink brand of soft drinks, Brasaf is now tackling the highly competitive and concentrated beer market. Cameroon now has only three players following the acquisition of Guinness by SABC, which promotes a multitude of national and international brands.

SLASH Beer is a lager sold in PET bottles, a fully recyclable plastic that does not alter the taste or purity of the product.

SLASH beer will be sold in 33cl bottles at a price of 350 CFA francs and in 65cl bottles at a price of 600 CFA francs, which remains very competitive despite the superior quality advertised.

This new brand is a boon for the advertising and media market: in 2016, for its launch, Ivoire beer spent more on billboard and TV advertising in two months (November and December 2016) than market leaders CASTEL and NUMBER ONE spent over the entire year.
