Serge Schick appointed Director of International Development and Own Resources at France Médias Monde

Marie-Christine Saragosse, President and CEO of France Médias Monde, has appointed Serge Schick as Director of International Development and Own Resources, and member of the Executive Committee, effective September 17, 2020. He succeeds Marc Fonbaustier, who has left to become French Ambassador to Conakry.

Serge Schick has spent his entire career in the media industry, particularly in public broadcasting in recent years, holding management positions at Radio France and INA. From June 2014 to July 2020, he was Director of Audience Strategy and Brand Development at Radio France and a member of the Executive Committee. His department was responsible for research and forecasting, advertising sales, diversification, and relationship marketing. From 2011 to 2014, he was Director of Ina Expert, which brings together the higher education, research, professional training, and expertise activities of the Institut National de l'audiovisuel. As a member of the company's executive committee, he led numerous international projects. Previously, he was co-founder and associate director of Headway International (2006), a marketing and strategy consulting firm dedicated to media companies, and led projects for most French-speaking public broadcasters (RTS, RTBF, Radio Canada, France Télévisions). From 2003 to 2006, he was director of marketing and diversification at Carat Expert, after serving as vice president of Cell Network France, a company specializing in new technologies, from 2000 to 2003. From 1994 to 2000, he was responsible for developing the strategic plan for France Télévisions before co-founding the thematic channels Histoire and Mezzo.

Serge Schick holds a law degree from Paris II Panthéon-Assas University (1985), a degree from the Paris Institute of Political Studies (1987), and a master's degree in Marketing Studies and Strategies from the Paris IEP (1988). He taught for ten years at the INA and Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne University. He was one of the architects behind the launch of the media magazine Ina Global. He is also the author of Le Jour où la Belgique a disparu, un moment clef de l'histoire télévisuelle (The Day Belgium Disappeared: A Key Moment in Television History) (Ed. La Muette / Ina Editions, 2011).
