Senegal ranks among countries with the best startup ecosystems

Recent years have shown that Africa can count on a rapidly growing network of startups. Although funding does not yet rival that of other regions of the world, the continent's potential is real, boosted by the digitalization of various economic sectors.

In fact, Senegal is the only French-speaking sub-Saharan African country represented in the ranking of African countries with the best startup ecosystems in 2022. This ranking was compiled by the media outlet WeAreTech (source: Partech), which had already revealed in 2021 the three sectors whose startups had raised the most funds in Africa: Fintech, logistics, and Edtech.

In the French-speaking sub-Saharan sub-region, the Senegalese startup ecosystem is particularly dynamic. In recent years, the country has stepped up its efforts to foster the emergence of successful startups and attract international investors. Wizall Money (fintech), Paps (logistics)… More and more young entrepreneurs are making their mark.
