Press release: RFI and France 24 confirm their success in Côte d'Ivoire in four provincial cities

As in Abidjan, RFI and France 24 confirmed their success in the Ivorian provinces in 2018 and their positions at the top of the rankings in terms of brand awareness and audience share, according to the results of the Kantar-TNS Africascope* study conducted in Bouaké, Korhogo, Mankono, and Tengrela.

RFI is among the most listened-to radio stations and performs well in Mandinka

Listened to every week by 28.7% of the population in the four cities, RFI has consolidated its status as the leading international radio station

. Despite a decline in daily radio listening, RFI recorded an average daily listening time of 1 hour 16 minutes and the French radio station is among the top five most listened to radio stations on a daily basis

The Mandinka** offering, whose programs have been broadcast separately from French on FM in Bouaké and Korhogo and on shortwave in Tengrela and Mankono for several months, is also performing well

. Already, 18% of people who are familiar with RFI know that the French radio station broadcasts programs in Mandinka, and 72% of those who are familiar with these programs say they listen to them (including 30% on a daily basis).

In Côte d'Ivoire, RFI is broadcast on FM in Abidjan, Bouaké, Korhogo, San Pedro, and Yamoussoukro, as well as on shortwave throughout the country.

France 24 consolidates its audience and strengthens its status as the leading international news channel France 24 confirms its status as the leading international news channel in the four provincial cities measured in Côte d'Ivoire, both in terms of audience and awareness. 

More than one in three residents in the four cities surveyed watch France 24 every week (37.5%), and nearly 83% of those surveyed say they are familiar with the channel. In terms of daily viewership, it ranks among the top 10 most-watched television channels, all channels combined, among the entire population

. France 24 also records a high viewing time of 40 minutes per day.

In Côte d'Ivoire, France 24 is available via satellite reception on SES 5 and Eutelsat 16A, as well as on Canal+, DSTV, Starsat, Ma Télé Afrique, and Orange C.I (IPTV)
