CAF has just launched a new call for tenders for audiovisual exploitation rights available on a pay-per-view basis throughout the sub-Saharan region, including South Africa.
These rights are open for exploitation in most languages of the region, including English and local languages, with the exception of French.
The events offered as part of this consultation are:
– The TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations Cameroon 2021 (final tournament)
– The TotalEnergies African Nations Championship 2022 (final tournament)
– The TotalEnergies Women's Africa Cup of Nations 2022 (final tournament)
– The TotalEnergies Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations 2022 (final tournament)
– The TotalEnergies U-17 Africa Cup of Nations 2023
– The TotalEnergies U-20 Africa Cup of Nations 2023
– The TotalEnergies CAF Champions League 2021-22
– TotalEnergies CAF Champions League 2022-23
– TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup 2021-22
– TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup 2022-23
– TotalEnergies CAF Super Cup 2022
– The TotalEnergies CAF Super Cup 2023
– The TotalEnergies CAF Women's Champions League 2022 (final tournament).
Submissions to CAF must be received no later than Tuesday, November 2, 2021, before 12:00 p.m. local time (Egypt).
It should be noted that in 2017, the CANAL+ Group signed an agreement with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) covering the broadcasting rights for CAF's main official competitions until 2024.
