Paris and Dakar celebrate Digital Women's Day

The 7th edition of "Digital Women's Day" will be held in Paris on April 17 and in Dakar on June 13.

This event, which celebrates women in digital technology, will take place in Paris and also on the African continent, in the city of Dakar. It is clear that the rapidly growing digital sector is sorely lacking in female talent, which is why this event celebrates female innovation every year to promote greater parity and equality.

With "new horizons" as its central theme, the event will go beyond the borders of France with a second meeting organized in Dakar on June 13.

According to Delphine Remy-Boutang, co-founder of Digital Women's Day, founder of the JFD Club, the Margaret Foundation, and the agency The Bureau: "Africa is the leading continent for female entrepreneurship in the world. Thus, 2019 marks the beginning of the internationalization of Digital Women's Day, which will expand annually across the African continent, where new technologies are booming and represent a decisive socio-economic challenge. "

The two-day event will bring together players in the digital economy in Paris and Dakar for speeches, discussions, sharing, and networking focused on a responsible and more inclusive digital society. 160 speakers are expected to attend this new edition. Isabelle Mashola, founder of the Isahit platform, Marie-Christine Saragosse, President of France Médias Monde, and Karim Sy, founder of Digital Africa, have confirmed their attendance.

The event will also feature the presentation of the European and African Digital Woman Award, which will be presented on April 17 in Paris at the Maison de la Radio and celebrated again in Dakar on June 13 at the Pullman Hotel.

Among the nominees for Africa are Rebecca Enonchong, founder and CEO of Appstech, and Fayelle Ouane from Côte d'Ivoire, co-founder of Suguba, a regional platform dedicated to developing entrepreneurial ecosystems in West Africa.

The winners will benefit from media visibility and platforms for expression at major international events, such as Viva Technology.
