PANAFRICAN women gather to discuss climate change

The next edition of the Les Panafricaines forum, a network of women journalists from 54 countries across the continent, will take place on March 6 and 7, 2020, in the city of Casablanca.

Launched on March 8, 2017, International Women's Day, the "Panafricaines" forum brought together for the first time in Marrakech women journalists from 23 French-speaking African countries such as Algeria, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Congo, the DRC, Ivory Coast, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea-Conakry, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, and Rwanda. One hundred women came together to improve the status, working conditions, and representation of women in the continent's media.

Since that first meeting, the "Panafricaines" have organized themselves into a true international network, driven by the ambition to connect these women journalists despite their cultural and linguistic differences.

For this new edition of the forum, the "Panafricaines" will meet to discuss the theme of climate change and its impact on the African continent. Through six workshops, these women will work together to define the objectives and actions to be taken in favor of the climate during 2020.
