The leading African film festival, FESPACO, will be held from February 25 to March 4, 2023.
Every two years, the country of honest men honors African cinema by organizing FESPACO, well known for its supreme award, the Etalon d'Or.
FESPACO awards official prizes and special prizes in two categories to the films in competition. The official prizes include the Etalon d'Or du Yennenga for feature-length fiction and documentary films and the Poulain d'Or du Yennenga for short films.
In 2019, the festival celebrated its 50th anniversary with an edition organized around the theme "Memory and Future of African Cinema."
For this next edition, which will once again take place in Burkina Faso, the FESPACO General Delegation is officially launching registrations for the official selection of films, open from March 31 to October 31, 2022.
