Nostalgie Côte d'Ivoire, the most popular radio station among Ivorians

50.5% of Ivorians spontaneously mention Nostalgie when asked "which radio stations do you know, even if only by name."

It is by far the best-known radio station among Ivorians and is also one of the most listened to.

With a 13.2% audience share among the population aged 5 and over, Nostalgie is ahead of RFI and close behind the religious station Al Bayane, which has the largest audience, according to the results of the latest Médiamétrie radio audience survey.

This survey, which was conducted from October 7 to December 10, 2018, among 1,589 people representative of the population of Greater Abidjan and Bouaké, found that radio and many stations have been on a downward trend over the past year. In this context, Nostalgie is an exception, consolidating its position as the leading commercial radio station in Côte d'Ivoire: it is the only commercial station to show growth (+2 points in one year).

Nostalgie has two audience peaks, the first in the morning with the Super Morning show, and the second from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. thanks to the Sens interdit show hosted by Yannick Tossah, which is making a very strong breakthrough.

Three questions for Cheick Yvhane, Managing Director and Program Director of Nostalgie Côte d'Ivoire How do you explain Nostalgie's success in this new survey

? "The success of Nostalgie's programs lies overall in the constant search for a coherent balance between audience expectations and innovation. We don't reinvent things, we rethink them, keeping in mind that listeners, their habits, and the channels they listen to are constantly evolving.

And what was the recipe for Sens Interdit's success?

"The undisputed success of certain strong programs such as Sens Interdit

stems from their innovative nature. But we had to think outside the box and, above all, prove wrong those who always believed that there was no significant late-night audience in Côte d'Ivoire."
What is the profile of Nostalgie listeners?

Nostalgie is a generalist station that appeals to both men and women and all age groups, with a core audience aged 25-34. 43.6% of our listeners are in the upper-middle socioeconomic category.

We are also continuing our geographical expansion to achieve a strategic network covering the whole of Côte d'Ivoire within a reasonable timeframe.
