Molotov teams up with Digital Virgo to accelerate its growth on the continent

Digital consumption of TV and radio channels and programs continues to grow in Africa.

Against this backdrop, the OTT distribution platform Molotov has begun its expansion on the continent. This international expansion began in Côte d'Ivoire a few weeks ago. Senegal is expected to follow in January, along with five other countries: Cameroon in February, Burkina Faso in March, Tunisia in April, Guinea, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, before a global rollout across the rest of French-speaking Africa.

Molotov, which claims to have more than 13 million users in France, has chosen to develop optimized applications adapted to local realities such as low internet coverage. To monetize its paid offering, Molotov has partnered with Digital Virgo, a leading player in international monetization, particularly thanks to its cardless, pay-per-day payment system tailored to African markets.

"This partnership enables us to deploy a high value-added service in the region. Cloud TV offers growth potential for all players in the content ecosystem, from producers to publishers and telecom operators. But the key to success is undoubtedly adapting to local specificities. This is where we come in, integrating our payment platform, our ability to integrate local content, adapt our technology, and launch effective marketing campaigns." -Vincent Taradel, Marketing Director at Digital Virgo
