MIPTV has announced the winners of the 2019 Medals of Honor, and this year, Nigerian Mosunmola "Mo" Abudu, CEO of EbonyLife, is among the winners.
Mo Abudu, CEO of EbonyLife Media, has been described by Forbes magazine as "Africa's most accomplished woman." Now one of the most prolific producers on the African continent, Mo Abudu launched the EbonyLife TV group in 2013, which produces more than 1,000 hours of original programming each year.
Mo Abudu then ventured into the film industry with the creation of EbonyLife Films. She is the executive producer of Fifty, the number one Nigerian film of 2015, The Wedding Party (2016), Nollywood's biggest box office hit of all time in Nigeria, The Wedding Party 2: Destination Dubai (2017), the highest-grossing Nollywood film; and Chief Daddy, the third highest-grossing film in the Nigerian film industry.
As the winner, Mo Abudu received a medal of honor recognizing senior executives who, through their talent, leadership, and passion, have made a significant contribution to the development of the international television industry and its community.
