Abidjan will host the 8th edition of the Grand Jury of African Advertising on June 12 and 13, 2020. The information was revealed on February 28 during a launch ceremony organized by Marie Antoinette Kouamé, President of the GJPA.
A pan-African event that promotes advertising by placing it at the service of major contemporary issues, the GJPA's main theme will be "Sustainable Development: 'You cut, you plant'," and will feature three highlights:
- The communications agency competition, the citizen advertiser competition, and the "Martine Studer" student competition
- A series of panels, conferences, and training sessions led by experts
- An advertising fair to facilitate B2B meetings
In an interview with Adweknow, the event's president, Marie Antoinette Kouamé, said: "The GJPA's short-term goal is to effectively cover all of West Africa, with the medium-term goal of adding advertising agencies and advertising communication schools in Central Africa, and the long-term goal of including almost all African communication companies and advertisers.
