IPTV in Senegal: +9.8% in the second half of the year

While their latest audience figures have not been very favorable, the year is ending on a rather positive note in terms of revenue for Senegalese channels.

According to the Omedia institute, which conducts advertising audits in several African countries, TV advertising investment in December 2020 increased by 25.4% to reach 1.2 billion CFA francs.

In total, gross advertising revenue for Senegalese channels increased by 9.8% in the second half of the year, which is an extremely positive result when we remember that the health crisis had significantly reduced advertisers' spending in the first half of the year.

On the advertiser side, there was a wide variety of advertisers in the TOP 10 in December: Beyond telecom operators, online betting sites, and Canal+, which are present almost every month, several advertisers that have never appeared in the TOP 10 are making their debut, such as DOLIMA, which markets cow's milk products from Senegal, i.e., not imported, DJOLOF CHICKEN, whose chickens are raised in Senegal, U PERFECT beauty products, and HOBALLAH JOUETS toys.
