Sandrine Ochou created OSE TV in 2017. After graduating from journalism school (ISTC in Abidjan), she decided to create her own web TV channel with the aim of developing and promoting entrepreneurship in Côte d'Ivoire. OSE TV was recently recognized at the Côte d'Ivoire Digital Press Awards
, where it was named the second best web TV channel in Côte d'Ivoire.
How would you define OSE TV's main mission?
OSE TV is a web TV channel and communications agency dedicated to entrepreneurship and leadership, enabling start-ups and SMEs to communicate easily, at low cost, and gain visibility.
OSE TV's ambition is to showcase entrepreneurs in Côte d'Ivoire, regardless of the sector in which they operate. Our main programs, such as OSE TA PUB and OSE POUR AGIR, allow business leaders to present their companies and share their experiences, challenges, and successes with the general public.
What is your business model?
Our main source of revenue comes from producing advertorials on behalf of companies. We have also become a communications agency serving businesses.
How is OSE TV different from a television channel?
The resources required to operate a web TV channel are less than those required for a television channel. For economic reasons, we do not broadcast live, but all our programs are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Of course, we aspire to become a television channel. I am particularly looking into the possibility of doing so and developing our concept in Burkina Faso, Mali, and Benin, as many companies in the sub-region are approaching us.
You recently launched an initiative to raise awareness of entrepreneurship among young people…
Yes, on August 25, we launched an awareness campaign on entrepreneurship called "WE DARE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE."
Our goal is to inform, raise awareness, and motivate people about the strong potential they represent for the socioeconomic development of their regions.
For its first edition, "WE DARE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE" set up shop in AGBOVILLE, hence the name of the caravan, OGBOBA WE DARE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
From August 25 to October 30, nearly 90 young people and women from Agboville and surrounding villages will take part in training courses in various sectors, including cosmetics.
From August 25 to October 30, nearly 90 young people and women from Agboville and surrounding villages will undergo training in various sectors, including cosmetics, baking, livestock farming, and recycling. At the end of these training courses, we hope that these young people will start their own businesses and develop employment at the local level. It must be said that most of these young people are graduates and motivated, but they cannot find work on the job market.
How are you financing this initiative?
For the moment, the entire initiative is financed by personal funds. The public authorities have not followed suit, which makes things quite difficult. Nevertheless, this is only the first edition, and we hope that next year we will get more support.
How does OSE TV fit into this program?
This caravan is fully in line with the values we defend every day at OSE TV. The images we shoot during the training courses provide us with exciting material that we use to produce programs for the channel.
