with prestigious brands that are eager to tell their stories and present the narrative of a new Africa.
You have just presented the new Brand Africa 2022 ranking. What are the main findings? What is the assessment for French-speaking Africa?
Every year around Africa Day, May 25, 2022, we unveil the Brand Africa 100 ranking of Africa's most admired brands. This year, we unveiled the twelfth edition of the ranking.
The main lesson remains the same: there are still few African brands at the top of the ranking or even present in the ranking. However, African brands have jumped 4%
in the ranking to reach 17% this year. This is encouraging.
French-speaking Africa is largely dominated by French and French-speaking brands such as Orange and CANAL+. MTN is the most admired African brand in Côte d'Ivoire.
The results are a valuable barometer; an important recognition of excellence in the sector and an inspiring barometer that builds Ivorian brands and brands that help shape the image and competitive landscape of the region and Côte d'Ivoire.
What are the major changes compared to the last edition?
We have seen major changes in the results this year. Notably, for example, in the media sector, with Life TV coming out on top as the most admired media brand in Côte d'Ivoire.
SOLIBRA is the most admired Ivorian brand in Côte d'Ivoire. In previous years, it was among the 10 most admired brands.
This year, we also wanted to highlight brands that symbolize African pride. The NSIA brand stood out significantly among Ivorian brands. African and Ivorian brands cannot stand out without several aspects, notably leadership. The committed leadership of their managers. That is why we awarded a prize to Martine Coffi-Studer of Ocean Ogilvy and Jean-Kacou Diagou, founder of NSIA, for inspiring the excellence of brands that stimulate the growth of Made in Africa brands.
