The new Ecofin formula, which will be launched in mid-October, will be led by a new editor-in-chief, Louis-Nino Kansoun, who has been in charge of the Mines section until now.
Idriss Linge, who previously headed up the publication, will now be responsible for managing the editorial teams of all publications produced by Mediamania.
It should be noted that ECOFIN belongs to the Mediamania group, which also includes We Are Tech, Investir au Cameroun, Togo First, Bankable, etc.
In an interview published on ECOFIN, the new editor-in-chief explains that Ecofin's new format is "the result of careful consideration to transform our media outlet into a 'major economic daily,' a benchmark for information on Africa… We will offer more diverse content, with innovative formats, doing our utmost to provide comprehensive coverage of the continent's economic issues. We want to be more agile in responding to current events while continuing to provide detailed analysis and high-value-added articles…"
As expected, the new formula also affects the format, as a new home page and a new layout will be implemented to make the content more readable and accessible.
The English-language version of Ecofin Agency will also be completely revamped, with the aim of gradually evolving into a large, bilingual pan-African newsroom.
