"Creative Africa 3.0" TV5MONDE's new web series

Starting April 15, TV5MONDE will be offering a new series of episodes of its magazine program "La Francophonie chez toi" (Francophonie at Home), in partnership with Afrobytes and the Haut-Parleurs network. This new web series, called "Creative Africa 3.0," gives a voice to young entrepreneurs in the tech world in French-speaking Africa.

The Covid-19 epidemic has greatly accelerated the development of startups in French-speaking Africa, which are catching up with those in English-speaking areas. The aim of this series is to showcase exceptional and inspiring careers in the digital sector, a key sector with a bright future for young African men and women.

"Creative Africa 3.0" focuses on this new generation of entrepreneurs who are inventing digital solutions and building the Africa of tomorrow. Co-hosted by Ivan Kabacoff of TV5MONDE and Haweya Mohamed, co-founder of Afrobytes, each program draws on the local network of young journalists from Les Hauts-Parleurs to showcase an innovative solution and give a voice to eight young entrepreneurs from eight French-speaking African countries who are active in eight different sectors.

In each country, the program features a report by a Haut-Parleur journalist who immerses themselves in the start-up to understand the innovation on offer and its impact on customers and/or users. The report is followed by an interview with the entrepreneur to find out their vision of technology in their country and in French-speaking Africa. Each program ends with advice for young people who would like to get started in the sector presented.
