Ciné Guimbi will open its doors on November 21, 2019.

The renovation project for Ciné Guimbi in Burkina Faso is nearing completion, allowing this historic movie theater to reopen to the public on November 21, 2019.

In the cultural city of Bobo-Dioulasso, audiences will be able to reconnect with the seventh art thanks to Ciné Guimbi, a mini-plex designed around two movie theaters (174 seats and 324 seats) and a cultural hub.

Supported by the Association de Soutien du Cinéma au Burkina Faso (Burkina Faso Film Support Association), the project has received €500,000 in financial support from the European Union via the French Development Agency.

In an interview with Adweknow, Berni Goldblat, director, producer, and president of the Association, said, "With Ciné Guimbi, we will focus more on a hybrid format: a movie theater in a cultural hub, with programming focused on auteur films but also international films… We want to create a living space that goes beyond cinema." "
