CANAL+ regularly modifies its service plan (channel numbering) to take into account changes related to the creation or disappearance of channels or to comply with local regulations.
Since November 14, CANAL+ has changed the numbering of its channels in sub-Saharan Africa to comply with, among other things, the decision taken by the HACA a few months ago.
Ivorian channels now occupy the top seven spots in this new numbering system in Côte d'Ivoire, in the same order as they appear on Ivorian digital terrestrial television: RTI 1 in position 1, followed in order by RTI 2, RTI 3, NCI, A+ Ivoire, Life TV, and 7info.
They also retain their place in 201, 202, etc., which was theirs before this change.
In addition, CANAL+ took advantage of the change to its service plan to add new entertainment, youth, music, and news channels… and launch Canal+ CAN, exclusively dedicated to CAN 2024 and offering live broadcasts of all matches, highlights, behind-the-scenes footage, commentary, analysis, and insights on CANAL 9, which are the hallmarks of CANAL+'s unique and rich editorial content.
CANAL+ has also increased the number of HD channels available and revised the numbering of African channels in particular. In Benin, for example, ORTB HD is now available on channel 280, A+ Benin HD is on channel 33 and channel 281, Canal 3 Benin is on channel 282, while Golfe TV Africa, TVC HD, and E-télé are available on channels 283, 284, and 285, respectively.
In Cameroon, Cameroonian channels, which include three new channels, are changing from channel numbers 300 to channel numbers 310 and above.
These changes will naturally affect the numbering of a large number of channels and require subscribers to change their habits, which may lead to some temporary reactions on social media.
