CANAL+ and Mediawan join forces to produce original content for Africa

On October 14, CANAL+ International and Mediawan announced the creation of a joint venture dedicated to producing original French-language content for African audiences.

To meet the growing demand for local content, the two entities have decided to join forces to produce new content, films, series, and animation for audiences in the 25 African countries where the CANAL+ group operates.

The new entity will be managed by the Mediawan group, a French audiovisual group led by Pierre-Antoine Capton, Xavier Niel, and Matthieu Pigasse.

The agreement signed between the two parties is part of the strategy developed on the continent by CANAL+, which, with more than 3 million subscribers, continues its commitment to supporting local production.
