Analog television switch-off in Ivory Coast

As we announced a few days ago, on Thursday, October 21, 2021, the Minister of Communication, Media, and Francophonie, Amadou Coulibaly, brought together all stakeholders in the Ivorian audiovisual sector to launch the campaign to phase out analog television.

On this occasion, he announced that the campaign would end on November 13, 2021, with the definitive cessation of analog broadcasting in Côte d'Ivoire.

The transition from analog to digital television began in 2012 and has cost the Ivorian government more than 30 billion CFA francs.

This definitive switch-off of analog will force people who only receive television via traditional Yagi antennas to equip themselves with decoders and antennas that allow them to receive DTT channels.

In return for this equipment, the difference in image quality will be visible to the naked eye and viewers will benefit from a wider range of channels with Ivorian content.
