Based in Côte d'Ivoire, the pan-African communications network African Media Agency has announced the launch of a training program for journalists and content editors on the African continent.
This is an accredited program designed to train local media outlets and journalists to make better use of new technologies in an environment where it is sometimes difficult to compete with major players who are already well established in the media landscape.
The aim of this training is to "strengthen the capacities of African journalists and build confidence in local media." This is a major challenge today on the African continent, at a time when digital technology is developing at breakneck speed. For African Media Agency, it is becoming urgent to support the training and professionalization of journalists and content editors in the use of new tools to develop their skills and seize the opportunities offered by digital technology, in particular through better promotion of content on these 2.0 channels.
The training platform will include workshops and group sessions to train participants in the uses and future trends of content publishing.
The agency will draw on experts and established organizations to tailor its modules to best meet the training needs of the African continent. To this end, it will offer customized training and certification.
The training courses will be available in French, English, Arabic, and Portuguese and will cover topics such as innovation and artificial intelligence, content monetization, investigative journalism, and fact checking.
Interested journalists, bloggers, and content publishers can register until March 25, 2022.
