African Cristal Media & Advertising Summit: names of first speakers announced

The next edition of the African Cristal MAD (Media Advertising Summit) will take place in Marrakech from June 13 to 16.

Under the theme of "Positive Brands," the event will once again bring together professionals from the communications, media, advertising, and digital sectors operating on the African continent.

Among the speakers, several prominent figures have already confirmed their attendance:

  • Jacques Bonjawo – Author

Digital entrepreneur and co-founder of the Ocean Innovation Center incubator, Jacques Bonjawo is also a consultant to startups and the US Federal Government, as well as the author of best-selling books on digital technology. He also founded Genesis Telecare and contributed to the launch and growth of the African Virtual University (AVU) with the support of Bill Gates and the World Bank, before becoming its first president. He also advised and accompanied Senegalese President Abdoulaye Wade at the Davos Economic Summit in 2004.

  • Valérie Henaff – CEO – Publicis

Valérie Henaff began her career at Callegari Berville, then joined the BDDP agency and, in 2004, joined TBWA/Paris as Head of Strategic Planning for the Group. In 2006, she joined Publicis Conseil as Managing Director in charge of Strategy and Development. In January 2009, she was appointed Managing Director of Publicis France, then in 2014 she became President of Publicis Conseil. In 2016, she was appointed President of Publicis Worldwide. In 2019, she added the roles of CSO and Head of CSR at Publicis France to her responsibilities.

Eve Laurier – Managing Director – Edelman
With an Executive MBA from HEC McGill, Eve Laurier is one of 36 women members of the International Women's Forum Fellowship Program. She specializes in developing communications strategies for companies with the aim of disseminating clear messages that will resonate in the media. Eve now heads the Edelman office in Montreal and, thanks to her leadership, Edelman Montreal won the Mercuriade Employer of the Year award from the Federation of Quebec Chambers of Commerce and Edelman Canada won the Public Relations Agency of the Year award from Strategy magazine.

Anne-Laure Kiechel – CEO – Global Sovereign Advisory
Anne-Laure Kiechel began her career in 1999 at Lehman Brothers in New York, before moving on to Senior Banker and then Rothschild's financing advisory team in Paris, advising companies on capital structure, ratings, and financing. In 2013, she was appointed managing partner of Rothschild & Co. In 2019, she left Rothschild to set up her own independent firm, Global Sovereign Advisory, which advises governments and public companies on debt restructuring and public policy.

 

The African Cristal Awards ceremony will also be held. For this edition, the awards have been revamped with more coherent categories and a reduced number of sub-categories, making them clearer, fairer, simpler, and more meaningful.

The best campaigns of the year will be selected in 11 categories by a jury composed of international figures from the industry, based on the key principles of diversity, parity, and impartiality.
