AfricaCommsWeek, the event dedicated to communications professionals, is set to kick off on May 25, World Africa Day, and will run until May 28.
Initiated by Congolese Annie Mutamba, founder of Meridia Partners (an independent agency specializing in defending the interests of African organizations within European institutions) and Eniola Harisson, Africa Comms Week aims to provide the tools and resources necessary for Africa-focused communications professionals to change the current narratives about the continent and support its development.
This year, the event is designed as a series of hybrid events organized around a general theme: Changing perceptions of Africa: What next?
A total of 22 hybrid events are being organized with more than 30 speakers from across Africa and internationally: Cameroon, Chad, Congo, Gabon, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Morocco, Mauritius, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, Belgium, France, United Arab Emirates, and the United States.
Here are some of the main topics that will be addressed:
- Challenges and prospects for the communications and information professions in Africa: how are our professions evolving?
- Communicating Africa's true potential
- The challenges of maintaining a good reputation and digital footprint for a public figure
Since 2017, AfricaCommsWeek has aimed to build bridges and become the leading gathering of professionals passionate about transforming the continent through strategic communication.
