According to the annual results published by the Vivendi group, the CANAL+ group continues its strong growth in Africa, gaining 856,000 new subscribers in 2021, representing an increase of 14.2% in one year.
With 6,847,000 subscribers out of the CANAL+ group's total of 23,706,000 subscribers (France + international), Africa is further increasing its share of subscribers (28.8% in 2021 compared to 27.1% in 2020).
In addition, CANALBOX, under which its FTTx offers are marketed, is now available in Gabon (Libreville), Togo (Lomé), Congo (Brazzaville, Pointe Noire), Ivory Coast (Abidjan), Rwanda (Kigali), Burkina Faso (Ouagadougou), and DR Congo (Kinshasa).
The year 2022, marked in soccer by the African Cup of Nations at the beginning of the year and the World Cup at the end of the year, should also be a very good year for the CANAL+ group, which also launched its My Canal app a few days ago, allowing users to watch African content live or on demand on their smartphone, TV, or tablet.
