"Castes, les Amours Interdites" (Caste, Forbidden Love), the new Ivorian series on NCI

On January 19, NCI began broadcasting a new Ivorian series: CASTES, LES AMOURS INTERDITES (Caste Systems, Forbidden Love).

CASTES, LES AMOURS INTERDITES is co-produced with Orange and Franck Vlehi's company, LULLY GRACE PRODUCTION, which also produced the series BUZZ broadcast on NCI a year ago and Les coups de la vie and Les Nounous broadcast on A+ Ivoire.

The series comprises 60 episodes of 26 minutes each and illustrates NCI's commitment to supporting local production, as Sandra Coulibaly, NCI's Director of Fiction, emphasized a few months ago in her interview with ADWEKNOW.

ORANGE, co-producer, also broadcasts the series on its Max-it platform and on Orange TV, 48 hours before it airs on NCI.

In addition, CASTES, LES AMOURS INTERDITES will be broadcast in September 2026 on TV5 Monde, which has pre-purchased the rights.

Synopsis: Lamine Koulibaly, a ruthless patriarch, seeks to consolidate his family empire through strategic alliances. But his plans are thwarted by the will of his wife Awa, the murky ambitions of Rokhya, a woman as seductive as she is manipulative, and the ambitions of his children. Between arranged marriages and forbidden love, the series explores the slow disintegration of a family eaten away from within by double lives.
