Ivory Coast: official launch of the MTV Shuga series project

It's official: MTV Shuga Babi will be the first version of the MTV Shuga series adapted for French-speaking African audiences.

Ivory Coast will host this first adaptation of the popular TV series, which chronicles the lives of young people living in Africa. The first season of MTV Shuga Babi will present basic knowledge about HIV, including condom use, sex work, and discrimination against people living with HIV in Côte d'Ivoire.

A multimedia campaign will also be launched to promote the new series and raise awareness about HIV among young French-speaking Africans.

This project is funded by Unitaid, an organization based on innovation to expand access to medicines and represented by Dr. Philippe Duneton, Deputy Executive Director.

For the filming, castings and auditions will be organized to discover young talent and the future faces of the series. Information will be released gradually on the series' various social media accounts.
