After Dakar and Marrakech, the next edition of the Women In Africa Summit (WIA) will once again be held in the Moroccan city on June 27 and 28, 2019.
More than just an international gathering, Women In Africa Initiative (WIA) is the leading international platform for economic development and support for African women leaders and high-potential women. Created in 2016, WIA Initiative is chaired by Hafsat Abiola, a Nigerian activist for human rights, civil rights, and democracy.
The next WIA Summit will bring together women working on the continent for two days to discuss a key theme: "How are African women engaging the world and creating a new paradigm?"
The event will focus on the following main themes:
- Africa-Europe theme: changing the game in our future relations
- Africa-Asia theme: Africa-Asia dynamics
- Science theme: African women as agents of change
- Corruption theme: Does corruption have a gender?
One of the highlights of the 2019 summit will be the second phase of the WIA 54 project. This initiative aims to identify and support 54 women entrepreneurs from the 54 countries on the continent. Together, they will benefit from two days of training in Marrakech.
