Africa Radio broadcasts in Abidjan

Africa Radio, a pan-African French-language radio project born out of the transformation of Africa N°1 Paris, was officially launched on June 12 in Abidjan, in the presence of Mr. Sidi Touré, Minister of Communication and Media.

Africa N°1 has been broadcasting in France since 1992. It has now been renamed Africa Radio and broadcasts from Abidjan, the economic capital of Côte d'Ivoire, on 91.1 FM.

This new pan-African ambition is led by Dominique Guihot, CEO of Africa Media, the publisher of Africa N°1 Paris, accompanied by Jean-Michel Severino, who heads the Investors and Partners Fund, the vocal leader of the Magic System A'salfo group, and former Beninese Prime Minister Lionel Zinsou. "

Our business model is firmly focused on the development of advertising markets in Africa. The advantage of this project is that it can build on the success of Africa N°1, now Africa Radio, which has been firmly established for over 25 years and is 100% dedicated to Africa. This first step should lead us to the creation of a pan-African editorial office in Abidjan,"

says Jean-Michel Severino.

As Dominique Guihot told us in an interview with Adweknow, Africa Radio aims to cover the main capitals of French-speaking Africa in the coming years with a unique program focused on cultural pan-Africanism. The ambition is also to support the educational, cultural, and economic development of the countries where the radio station will be established. After Abidjan, Africa Radio will soon be broadcasting in Brazzaville on 94.5 FM. In addition to FM, Africa Radio is available on social media in Africa and Europe.
