Since October 15, CANAL+ Afrique has been offering its subscribers a new channel: CANAL+ ELLES, available as CANAL+ ELLES Centre and CANAL+ ELLES Ouest to account for the time difference between West Africa and Central Africa.
Historically, CANAL+ has always had a predominantly male audience due to its extensive sports and blockbuster programming. CANAL+ELLES corrects this imbalance by offering premium programming, consisting of prime-time American films, series, and reality TV shows aimed at a female audience. It replaces CANAL+ Séries in the service plan.
CANAL+ELLES programming includes suspense/crime films on Mondays, crime series on Tuesdays, launching with How to Get Away with Murder, romantic films on Wednesdays, drama series on Thursdays, and reality TV on Fridays.
CANAL+ ELLES also affirms its African identity with a slot for African series on Sunday prime time and a major daily program, Le Chœur des femmes.
This 52-minute talk show will initially be weekly and broadcast as a special every Saturday. It will move to daily broadcasts starting Monday, December 30, and the daily show will be rebroadcast during prime time every Saturday evening.
Although Le Choeur des femmes is produced in Abidjan, CANAL+, true to form, makes it a point of honor to ensure that the diversity of countries is represented.
Le Choeur des femmes will cover everything that makes women's hearts beat faster: relationships with men, education, work, beauty, cooking, fashion, and culture. It will be hosted by four to five female columnists of all ages and nationalities, including the following personalities.
