Ivorian Kevin Sesse named winner of the RFI Challenge App Africa

The fourth edition of the RFI Challenge App Afrique Award, which took place in Dakar on Tuesday, December 10, 2019, recognized Kevin Sesse from Ivory Coast for his project "Mon Artisan," a connected platform that allows users to request local tradespeople (plumbers, electricians, carpenters, etc.).

This year, the RFI Challenge App Afrique Award aimed to promote the integration of new technologies in the field of urban development and smart cities in French-speaking Africa, and therefore to reward digital innovations (websites, applications, SMS services, etc.) that improve urban services and citizens' quality of life.

Thanks to the support of the RFI Challenge App Afrique partners, ENGIE AFRICA, Société Générale, Africa Global Recycling, and Schneider Electric, the winner receives a €15,000 grant to develop their digital service, particularly in the area of mobility, across French-speaking Africa.

The winner is the guest of Emmanuelle Bastide on the special edition of "7 milliards de voisins" (7 billion neighbors) recorded in front of a live audience yesterday at the French Institute in Dakar on the theme "How can connected applications improve the lives of people living in African cities?" The program will be broadcast today on RFI (at 10:10 a.m. GMT).
