On January 29, 2020, the Council of Ministers appointed Mr. René Bourgouin as President of the High Authority for Audiovisual Communication (HACA) under the Ministry of Communication and Media.
It should be noted that the HACA is the body responsible for regulating the audiovisual sector in Côte d'Ivoire.
The new President, René Bourgouin, is very familiar with the institution, having served as its Director General since 2012.
At the same Council of Ministers meeting, Mr. Samba Koné was appointed President of the ANP, the National Press Authority. A former journalist, Samba Koné also headed the AIP (Ivorian Press Agency) and chaired the Observatory for Press Freedom, Ethics and Professional Conduct (OLPED).
