RFI – France 24 Challenge App Africa "Digital technology in the fight against epidemics"

RFI and France 24 are launching the fifth edition of the "Challenge App Afrique" competition, which this year aims to promote the integration of new technologies in the fight against epidemics in French-speaking Africa. Open to all Africans and start-ups on the continent, this edition rewards digital innovations (websites, applications, SMS services, etc.) that meet the needs of users when epidemics break out (access to healthcare, reliable information, essential products, etc.).

Applications are open until November 15, 2020, on the dedicated website. The ten finalists will receive personalized support from an incubator in their country of origin.

The winner will receive funding for the development of their project.

Through this competition, RFI and France 24 aim to encourage and support innovation by stimulating and supporting young African companies and developers. ENGIE AFRICA, Digital Africa, Société Générale, Africa Global Recycling, Next Einstein Forum, and African incubators for innovative companies are partners in the initiative.

The first four editions focused on the fields of health (2016), girls' education (2017), sustainable development (2018), and urban development and smart cities (2019).
