The CANAL+ Group announced that on September 29, 2020, it crossed the 5% ownership threshold of MultiChoice Group Ltd and now holds 6.5% of the South African company's capital.
It should be noted that Multichoice, the leader in pay TV in sub-Saharan Africa, announced its listing on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange in February 2019.
According to the CANAL+ Group, "this acquisition demonstrates the confidence of the Canal+ Group and its shareholder Vivendi in the prospects of MultiChoice and the African continent, to which they are very attached."
