Alex Ogou unveils details of his new project

Actor, screenwriter, and director Alex Ogou has made his mark on the audiovisual production sector in French-speaking Africa in recent years with two hit series: Invisibles and CACAO. Both are original CANAL+ creations.

Named Best Foreign French-Language Fiction at the La Rochelle Fiction Festival, Invisibles became the first African series to win an award. This was a great reward for Alex Ogou, who once again won over African audiences with CACAO, the first African saga produced by Tanka Studios based on an original idea by Yolande Bogui.

Beyond their recognized quality in the industry, these two projects also marked the beginning of a new era in African fiction production for many observers and professionals. Indeed, players in the audiovisual landscape are in agreement: audiences are demanding fiction, particularly from the continent.

To meet these expectations, major pan-African broadcasters such as CANAL+ and TV5Monde are continuing their commitment to creating African content, notably by increasing their investment in fiction production. But they are not the only ones playing a major role.

Alex Ogou also seems keen to support the continent's momentum. The Franco-Ivorian director has revealed the name of his new project on social media: Plan A – Audiovisual Production.

No official information has been released yet, but everything suggests that Alex Ogou will soon be playing a major role in French-speaking African production.
