The rollout of digital terrestrial television (DTT) in Benin is taking shape.
On May 20, the Beninese government officially launched the activities of the broadcaster BENIN DIFFUSION. Its role is to centralize all activities related to the collection, multiplexing, and broadcasting of programs, unlike the model that was in place before the launch of DTT.
This new entity, which is responsible for broadcasting all of the country's DTT programs to households, will operate as a joint entity with a board of directors made up of representatives of the state and private television broadcasters.
The Beninese authorities have also announced that they have achieved 95% coverage of the national territory with DTT signals.
