The Cameroonian audiovisual landscape welcomes a new channel from the international TRACE group, which has chosen to set up a new subsidiary in the country.
Called TRACE Mboa, this new channel is dedicated to Cameroonian music and culture.
Following the success of its local channels such as Trace Kitoko, Trace Gospel, and Trace Afrikora, the Trace Group is continuing to develop new local channels with TRACE Mboa, in partnership with CANAL+.
As a reminder, since 2003, Trace has launched 26 television channels in France, the Caribbean, the Indian Ocean, sub-Saharan Africa, the United Kingdom, and Brazil. These channels now reach more than 350 million people in 180 countries and are leaders in their music segment almost everywhere.
According to Olivier Laouchez, co-founder and CEO of the group, "Trace is already a benchmark brand in Cameroon, and with Trace MBOA, we will go even further in promoting the careers and successes of Cameroonian artists, creators, and entrepreneurs to showcase talent and inspire young people."
Trace Mboa will broadcast in French, English, and local languages and will offer programming featuring Cameroonian music videos and themed shows.
At the same time, the group has officially launched CODE, an international show that decodes urban trends. This new show presents the latest Afro-urban trends from around the world, as well as the artists behind them. Hosted by Ninka Mbaye, the program analyzes the latest developments in the worlds of music, fashion, beauty, dance, art, and food. It also highlights inspiring individuals who are having an impact on urban culture around the world. Edited as a 16-minute magazine, the program will be broadcast on more than 10 of the group's channels around the world. Episodes of CODE will be broadcast from November 5 every Friday at 7:45 p.m. and then rebroadcast five times during the week
. "TRACE now wants to offer programs that promote diversity and inclusion. We want to highlight the success stories of artists, creators, and entrepreneurs to promote talent from all backgrounds and inspire young people," says Olivier Laouchez, co-founder and CEO of Trace.
