"In audiovisual production, we are moving from 'artisanal' production to more professional, more structured production. This can be seen in the content, in the quality of the projects being broadcast, from the writing to the post-production. We are starting to see real quality projects," " said Alexandre Rideau, CEO of the Senegalese production company Keewu, in an interview with Adweknow.
The production sector continues to develop in French-speaking Africa. We think of directors, actors, producers, and even the distribution of works, but we rarely mention those behind the scenes, those who imagine and write the scripts. Yet screenwriting is fundamental. That is why more and more initiatives are being launched to develop writing skills on the continent.
Today, LAFAAAC is standing out by creating an online screenwriting training course accessible via its mobile platform.
In 2020, LAFAAAC had already been working in the field of training by launching an online training program in English for young Nigerian writers on one of the training needs identified as a priority in the audiovisual field: series writing. The program had trained more than 300 screenwriters in Nigeria.
It should be noted that LAFAAAC is a French start-up launched in September 2017 that specializes in training for digital creation professions (audiovisual, radio, cinema, web), with Africa as its primary market.
